INPEX lodges plans for world’s biggest offshore carbon dumping ground off Darwin

Environment Centre NT say plans to ship the world’s carbon pollution waste through the taxpayer funded Middle Arm gas and petrochemical hub threaten the Territory’s coastal backyard, fishing culture and tourism industry.

Japanese gas giant INPEX has lodged plans with the federal environment department for Australia’s first offshore carbon dumping project (carbon capture and storage) in the Bonaparte Gulf, 250km off Darwin.
