Community Action Group:

Join our Community Action Group and engage with decision-makers and express your opinions about the state of environmental management in the NT.

As a community action group we draft submissions, make phone calls, write letters, door-knock, letter box drop and meet with politicians and senior bureaucrats at all levels of politics.

Our group is an access point for you to influence decision makers in an organised and strategic manner. The group runs alongside Arid Lands Environment Centre (ALEC)’s submission writing workshops.

Each month’s focus is directed by Environment Centre’s campaign objectives and relevant law and policy. Our campaigns include: McArthur River Mine, It's time to #Fix our Mining Laws, The Territory's Nature, It's Worth Protecting, Stop Barossa Gas and Love Darwin Harbour.

The group meet as required to draft submissions, write letters, plan actions, telephone MLA's and MP's and plan meetings with local members.

If you are interested in joining our Community Action Group sign up here and RSVP to the next meeting here.

If none of these sound quite right have a look at some more volunteer opportunities here.
