The Australian Pipeline Association (APA) Group has referred its monster 1580km North to East Australia Pipeline (NEAP) for approval under NT and Queensland laws.
The risks from this Beetaloo export fracking pipeline are enormous. With a diameter of 122cm – it is bigger than any terrestrial gas pipeline in Australia. It would slice through and disrupt pristine free-flowing waterways and important habitat for threatened species.
Worst of all – it risks all of this just to serve the export profits of big gas companies.
This isn't just a pipeline – this is the gas industries key to the massive expansion of fracking in the Territory.
We now have until October 15th to write submissions to the NT EPA, spelling out what this monster pipeline risks.
Join us at 6pm (ACST) Tuesday October the 6th for an online submission writing workshop where we will run through the ins and outs of this referral and the “how to” of writing a submission.
