If you are interested in engaging with decision makers and expressing your opinions about the state of the environment and environmental management in the Northern Territory, become a part of Environment Centre NT's Community Action Group. Together we draft submissions, make phone calls, write letters, door-knock, letter box drop and meet with politicians and senior bureaucrats at all levels of politics.
This month, we will be preparing responses to the Social Impact Assessment for the Middle Arm Sustainable Development Project (MASDP). We have major concerns that this Social Impact Assessment process is more about manufacturing consent for the gas-fed petrochemical precinct than it is about genuine community consultation. For those of you who are new to the group, we will also be explaining the MASDP proposal and the risks it poses to health and climate in the Territory.
