To celebrate bees during Australian Pollinator Week, running 8-15 November, we've teamed up with City of Darwin's Gardens for Wildlife and Barry Conde (the Bee Man) to run a special talk and to showcase some native bees and their hives.
Stingless bees are both fascinating and mysterious. Barry will unravel the mysteries and simplify Stingless bees as much as possible, taking you from where they are to the next steps. Barry will be bringing along 2 new hive boxes made by the Darwin Men's Shed, bees and some honey to taste.
In honour of the the bees, this event is bee-ing run on 'bee time' ... it's a night time event as they won't return to their hives til sunset.
Can't make it? You can still get involved in the Wild Pollinator Count, an opportunity to contribute to citizen science and wild pollinator insect conservation in Australia. It takes just 10 minutes & can be done from home!
Tickets are free but numbers are limited. RSVP here for your spot.
