A new report shows the Northern Territory has the lowest renewable energy production of any Australian state or Territory and should shift its focus away from polluting gas and re-introduce legislated renewable energy targets.
The States of Transition report, which was released nationally today, shows that while Tasmania (97%) and South Australia (77%) lead the nation in renewable energy generation, the Northern Territory is the furthest from 100% renewable energy generation, sourcing only 11% of its energy from renewable energy.
