Host a Climate Conversation

Most Australians are concerned about climate change, but are confused and overwhelmed - they don't know how Australia should respond or what they can do. Territorians are no different, we want to protect the natural environment and way of life that we know and love. We want to keep this place special and look after the climate and culture that helps this place thrive.

Helping people find a way to respond to the climate crisis is important. Social research shows that we make sense of confusing information and decide what to do about it through conversations with people that we know and trust.

Climate Conversations are in-depth discussions about climate change and are modelled to happen at scale, to help quickly shift the conversation on climate change in the Territory.

A Climate Conversation starts with a Host who invites their friends to their home for a discussion to share some food and join in a 3 hour quality discussion focused on taking action, led by a trained Facilitator. At the end of the discussion we invite participants to join the Environment Centre and take further action on climate change. We also invite participants to host their own Climate Conversation with their friends, to help create a groundswell of support in the NT for real climate action.

We’re always interested to hear from people who are keen to host a Climate Conversation.  Hosting is a simple and effective way to share an opportunity with your friends to engage in an in-depth discussion about climate change, and you'll be supported by a trained Facilitator to help make your Climate Conversation a success.

*Climate Conversations can also be tailored to be delivered in schools and workplaces.
