Environment Centre NT, Beyond Gas Network and Australian Conservation Foundation have teamed up to support a group of Territorians to bring an urgent message down south: The Territory is under threat from gas expansion like never before.
For over a decade, Territorians have led the fight against this destructive industry, but now Country, water, and our climate are at greater risk than ever.
The event will begin with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony from Wurundjeri Elder outside the Coburg Town Hall before the panel discussion begins inside the hall.
Speakers include:
- Ray Dimakarri Dixon, Mudburra elder and musician
- Miliwanga Wurrben, Rembarrnga healer
- Joni Wilson, Yanyuwa and Garawa Traditional Owner
- Asman Rory, Gudanji Garawa advocate
- Mililma May, Dangaalaba Kulumbirigin Tiwi community organizer
- Dr. Louise Woodward, NT paediatrician
Hosted by Kirsty Howey, Executive Director of Environment Centre NT, with stalls from local climate groups like Climate Action Merribek, Climate Action Maribyrnong and Darebin CAN.
