For over 40 years, Environment Centre NT has been a brave voice defending some of the most spectacular natural places on the planet.

But right now, the Northern Territory is under siege. 

Unprecedented fossil fuel extraction and industrial-scale agriculture are turning our precious landscapes into sacrifice zones. Free flowing rivers and ancient ecosystems that have endured for millennia are being lost. The twin climate and biodiversity crises aren't coming - they're here. 

Then they tried to silence us. 

In February 2025, the Finocchiaro Government abruptly slashed $100,000 in annual funding for our work. The message was clear: stop making noise or lose your funding. 

But here's what they didn't count on: you. 

Thanks to this incredible community, we've raised funds to almost cover this year's shortfall. You proved that our independence can't be bought - or sold. 

Now we need to go further. 

We're building a powerful movement to defend the Territory's nature and secure a liveable future for people and communities across this incredible place we call home.
