ECNT SUBMISSION TO THE TERRITORY ECONOMIC RECONSTRUCTION COMMISSION
29.07.2020
In our
submission
to the Territory Economic Reconstruction Commission we urge them to prioritise actions that deliver long term social and environmental benefits that will build resilience and response to climate change, particularly targeting the most disadvantaged people and communities. In considering investment for the Territory, consideration must be given not only to projects that drive investment now but also initiatives that reduce the risk of future economic shocks to the NT, particularly in the areas of climate disruption, legacy mines, drinking water insecurity and damage to our coastal and land biodiversity.
Our submission offers beneficial project ideas to build jobs, investment and resilience. Many of the major infrastructure investments we make now will be paid for by future generations, so they must contribute to building a biologically and climate resilient world.
