Meet our new Repower Manager

We've hired a new manager to build support for renewables over the critical Territory election period. Monica Tan is an experienced organiser and campaigner, has previously worked for Greenpeace, at The Guardian as a journalist, and is a published author. She recently took a week-long drive across the Outback to take up her new position here in Darwin.

The Territory election is on 22nd August, 2020. It's a fantastic opportunity to shape the public conversation and put renewables on the top of the agenda.

With the Territory beleaguered by economic woes, it’s vital all candidates commit to a renewables-powered NT. It’s only through a transition to renewable energy will we create thousands of local jobs, generate strong investment in Territory businesses, empower communities to generate low-cost energy, and dramatically lower household bills.

The last federal election proved that climate change is both a social and economic issue. The campaign Monica is spearheading, called Repower NT, will demonstrate how 10 gigawatts of clean, renewable energy generation by 2030 in the NT can provide over 8,000 new jobs, $2 billion in annual new revenue and prevent over 20 billion tonnes of carbon emissions.

We're confident it's the good news story that so many Territorians have been waiting for.

Join the campaign: Repower NT.

Also come along to our NT election campaign planning morning on Saturday, 7 December: RSVP here.
